Cover Kitchen Remodeling: The San Jose Owner’s Guide

If you own a Cover kitchen and the remodeling work is failing, we can fix it. Bradford Remodeling Co San Jose installs and corrects Cover-compatible kitchen remodeling throughout San Jose, with full kitchen remodels running $16,520 to $53,100 depending on scope, cabinet line, and substrate condition. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a drawer face pulls loose, a counter seam splits, or a cabinet box starts pulling off the wall because the original rough-in wasn’t squared before the finishes went on.

We’re an independent San Jose contractor, not affiliated with Cover. But we know how their kitchens are built, what fails first in our climate, and what it takes to make the work hold. Straight number, written scope, done when we said done.

Which Cover Models This Applies To

New painted shaker cabinets with an organized deep drawer

Cover kitchens don’t come in a single standardized build. The cabinet boxes, door profiles, and countertop substrates vary depending on which collection the kitchen came from and when it was installed. What matters for compatibility is matching the replacement materials to what’s already there: the cabinet box depth, the hinge bore pattern, the stone slab thickness, and whether the backsplash was set on cement board or directly on drywall.

Before we touch anything, we pull a drawer and check the stamp on the box. We measure the overlay, the stile width, and the hinge cup spacing. That tells us whether we’re replacing a door or rebuilding an entire run. For Cover kitchens, we default to documented materials from our approved roster: KraftMaid or Wellborn for cabinetry, Cambria or Silestone for surfaces, Kohler or Moen for fixtures. OEM parts are fine when they’re still in production. When they’re not, we spec aftermarket equivalents that match the original dimensions and exceed the original substrate prep.

Signs Your Cover Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • Cabinet doors that won’t stay aligned. Hinges sag when the box side has swollen or the hinge screws have stripped out of particleboard. In San Jose’s dry summers, the boxes can also shrink enough to throw the reveal off by an eighth inch.
  • Counter seams opening up. A seam that widens means the substrate moved. Stone doesn’t flex on its own; the plywood under it does. We see this most in kitchens where the original installer skipped a moisture barrier or set the slab on undersized base cabinets.
  • Drawer slides binding or falling out. This usually points to a box that was never squared at rough-in. The cabinet carcass twists, the slide loses its bite, and the drawer starts grinding before it fails entirely.
  • Backsplash tiles cracking or popping loose. Hairline cracks in grout lines are one thing. Tiles that sound hollow when tapped are another. That’s a substrate problem, often drywall that was never properly sealed or a thinset that failed from heat cycling near the range.
  • Water staining under the sink base. This is the one that costs you real money if you ignore it. A slow leak from the rough-in rots the cabinet floor, then the subfloor. By the time you see the stain, the box is usually done.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A stone counter, tile backsplash and open shelf after a kitchen remodel

Full kitchen remodeling in San Jose runs $16,520 to $53,100 with Bradford Remodeling Co. Smaller corrections, like replacing a failing cabinet run or re-setting a countertop, fall under our smaller kitchen remodel range of $10,620 to $23,600. The spread comes down to three things: how much of the original structure is salvageable, which material line you’re matching or upgrading to, and how much rough-in correction the substrate needs before new finishes go on.

Every price Brad gives is a written price before any work starts. That includes parts, labor, disposal, and the signed 365-Day Done Right Promise in your hand before the first tool comes out. If the work fails inside that year, we come back and correct it at no charge. No change orders at the door. No re-pricing after demo.

DIY or Call Us?

You can check a few things yourself: pull drawers, look for water staining, tap tiles for hollow spots. That tells you the scope of the problem. But kitchen correction work is not a weekend project. Removing a countertop without damaging cabinets takes experience. Rebuilding a cabinet box that’s twisted requires knowing how to square a carcass, not just how to hang a door. Countertop slabs are heavy enough to injure you, and a dropped stone can crack a floor or crush a foot. We’ve seen homeowners make a $2,000 repair into an $18,000 replacement by trying to save the counter.

If you’re in San Jose and your Cover kitchen is failing, call (669) 272-2637. Curtis Lane will walk the job with you, give you a written number, and tell you exactly what needs to happen and what it costs before you commit to anything.
