Dvele Fence Installation: The San Jose Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Dvele-compatible fence systems throughout San Jose, with most complete installations running between $4,130 and $10,620 depending on linear footage, terrain, and whether we’re pulling an old failed section or setting new posts. Most Dvele fence failures show up the same way: a leaning section after winter rain, a gate that drags, or a post that’s started to pull out of the ground. You’ll usually notice it at the property line first, especially where sprinklers run close to the fence or where the grade slopes toward a retaining wall.
Which Dvele Models This Applies To

Dvele’s residential fence systems come in a few standard panel profiles: their slatted privacy line, the horizontal plank series, and a lower aluminum-reinforced option most common on newer builds in the south San Jose corridor. The key identification point is the post sleeve, not the panel. Dvele posts run either 4×4 or 6×6 with an internal galvanized core, and the panel brackets are notched, not face-mounted. If your brackets are face-screwed, you’re not looking at a Dvele-original install, which matters for how we approach the repair.
On replacement parts, we install two paths: genuine Dvele-spec panels and posts when the rest of the run is in good shape and matching matters, or a quality aftermarket equivalent that carries the same wind rating and powder-coat spec. In our experience, aftermarket galvanized posts often outlast the OEM sleeves because the coating is thicker. We’ll walk you through both numbers before any work starts.
Independent note: Bradford Remodeling Co San Jose is not affiliated with Dvele. We’re a local San Jose contractor who works on Dvele fence systems because enough of them fail in this climate that we’ve learned exactly what goes wrong.

Signs Your Dvele Fence Installation Is Failing
- Post lean after rain. San Jose’s clay-heavy soil expands and contracts through wet-dry cycles, and Dvele posts set shallow or without proper gravel backfill start to drift. The lean usually shows up 18 to 36 months after install if the footer was undersized.
- Gate drag or latch misalignment. The hinge side post is shifting, or the gate frame itself has racked. Adjusting the hinges hides the problem for a few weeks, but the post movement continues underneath.
- Panel rattling in the wind. Dvele panels are heavy, and when the bracket notches wallow out or the set screws back off, the panel slaps against the post. This is more than noise; it accelerates wear on the bracket and the panel edge.
- Rust bleed at post bases. Water pools where the sleeve meets the concrete footer, and once the thin factory coating fails, rust tracks down the face of the post. Heavy sprinkler coverage near the fence line speeds this up.
- Gaps opening between panels. The post spacing was set wrong from day one, or the center posts are twisting. Gaps let wind load drive the fence harder and make a bad footing worse.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For San Jose, a full Dvele fence installation runs $4,130 to $10,620. The low end covers a short run, roughly 50 linear feet, with panels re-used where possible and new posts set in concrete. The high end is a full tear-out and re-set of 150-plus linear feet with new Dvele-spec panels, new galvanized post cores, and gate re-hanging. Most San Jose jobs land in the middle, around $6,000 to $8,000, when we’re replacing half the panels and all the posts.
Every quote includes the written price before work starts, line by line: parts, labor, concrete, haul-off, and gate hardware. No surprise invoices at the door. Curtis Lane built Bradford Remodeling on flat-rate pricing and written scope after years of watching homeowners get burned by verbal promises. That’s also why every completed fence carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a post settles or a panel bracket fails within a year, we come back and correct it at no charge.

You can safely check the obvious: wiggle the posts, look for rust at the base, note where the gate drags. But once a post is moving, there’s no surface fix. Digging and re-setting a Dvele post means pulling a concrete footer, dealing with a panel that weighs more than most people expect, and getting the spacing dead-on so the notched brackets actually seat. Get the post out of plumb and you’ll re-hang panels that bind. Fence work also brings real tension into play when you’re pulling an old post while the adjacent panels still carry load. It’s not electrical work, but a twisted panel under tension can knock a ladder out from under you quick. For a straight quote on what your fence actually needs, call (669) 272-2637. FAQs

In San Jose’s clay soil and dry summers, a properly set Dvele fence with galvanized post cores should last 20 to 25 years before posts need attention, though the panel coating may show UV fade and salt-air wear faster if you’re closer to the bay. The first thing to fail in almost every case is the post footer, not the panel. Get that part right and the rest holds.
If the panels are straight and the brackets still seat, we can often re-set individual posts and leave the rest of the run alone. That usually runs well under full replacement cost. If the post sleeves are rusting through or the panel notches are wallowed out, repair turns into replace quickly. We’ll tell you which side of that line you’re on before you commit to anything.
Most San Jose fence swaps take two to three working days from tear-out to final gate adjustment. Concrete needs a day to cure before we hang panels, so day one is demo and post setting, day two is panel mounting, and day three is gate hardware and a full walk-through with the signed written guarantee handed to you at close.
We keep common Dvele panel brackets, post caps, galvanized post cores, and gate hinge sets on the truck after years of service calls around San Jose. Full panel replacement means a short order time for the right profile. Alongside the Dvele-compatible parts, we also work with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone products on the interior side, so if the fence project grows into a property rehab, the crew is already squared away. Call (669) 272-2637 for an exact quote on your fence, estimates are free.
